Privacy Policy
Coffer is built on a simple principle: your financial data belongs to you.
What We Collect
Nothing. Coffer does not collect, transmit, or store any personal or financial data on external servers. All accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, savings goals, and net-worth snapshots remain on your device.
No Accounts
Coffer does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use the app.
No Analytics
We do not use any analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, or third-party services that monitor your behavior. We do not know how you use the app, how often you open it, or what you log inside it.
No Advertising
Coffer contains no advertisements and no advertising SDKs. We do not share data with advertisers because we have no data to share.
No Bank Connections
Coffer does not integrate with banks, brokerages, or any financial institution. There is no Plaid, no aggregator, no open banking API. The only way data enters Coffer is by you typing it in or importing a CSV file from your computer or iCloud Drive.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. ELS Innovations LLC does not process payments directly and does not have access to your payment information.
Data Storage
All app data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework (on-device SQLite database). If you delete the app, your data is deleted. We cannot recover it because we never had it.
iCloud Sync
If you choose to enable iCloud sync, your data is synced using Apple's CloudKit private database (encrypted, managed by Apple). This is entirely opt-in. We do not have access to your synced data. The app works fully offline without iCloud enabled.
CSV / YNAB Import
Files you import are read locally by the app. Nothing from an imported file is transmitted anywhere.
Third-Party Services
Coffer does not integrate with any third-party services that collect user data. The only external communication is with Apple's App Store (for purchase processing) and, if you enable it, Apple's iCloud (for sync).
Children's Privacy
Coffer is a personal finance tool designed for adults. It does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
If we ever change this policy, we will update this page and note the effective date. Given our architecture — no data collection, no accounts, no analytics — we do not anticipate material changes.
